Posting and Searching Guide
To Post a Listing:
- On the left hand side of the Commuter Student Services home page is a link that reads, “Post a Listing”. Click on that.
- A new form should load and you will see the following options available to landlords: room rental with non-students, full vacancy, sabbatical, and work exchange.
- Click on the appropriate link. Again a new form will load prompting you to enter all the information about your listing. As a reminder, a red asterisk denotes a required field.
- Once you have entered the information click submit. You should receive an e-mail confirmation that your ad was received along with a 5-digit listing ID number that you will need to keep.
- Please allow 24-48 business hours for your ad to appear on the web site. If you need to make any changes, contact the office. Make sure to have the 5-digit listing ID number available so the staff can track your ad and make the necessary changes.
- All ads run for 30 days and are automatically removed at the end of that time. If the unit is rented before 30 days, please contact the office so that we can remove your listing. Again we will require the 5-digit listing ID number. If your unit is not rented when the 30 days expire, please contact the office so that the ad can be renewed.
To Search the Listings:
- Faculty and Staff members can search sabbatical, full vacancy, and rental with non-student listings.
- The log in page can be accessed on the left hand side of the Commuter Student Services home page under “Search Listings.”
- Click on the link for “UCSD Faculty/Staff”
- The username and password are your single sign-on used as the system sign-in for most core business services on campus such as Financial Link or My Services.
- If you have not already established a system username and password, visit Blink help page to set it up.
- To search in a particular area, you would need to check the box(es) next to the location(s) of your choice. You can then also filter your search further by price range, number of rooms, and lease type. Please note that if your upper limit is $100 for example, to show listings at the $100 price you would need to select $200 as your upper limit.
- Once you have made all your selections, click search and all the listings in the database that meet those specifications will appear.
If nothing appears then there are currently no listings that meet all of your specifications. Broaden your search criteria to produce a more positive result.
