What is Sabbatical housing?
Sabbatical housing can provide long (lease) or short (month to month) term housing and may or may not be fully furnished. These homes usually belong to a professor or former professor of the University and in some instances may even belong to a student traveling abroad. They are typically located in nicer, higher end areas, and thus are sometimes a bit more expensive than some of the other listings.

How do I access the listings?
All faculty and staff that have been hired by the University are eligible for access to the listings. Faculty/staff access is provided through the establishment of a UCSD system single sign-on and password. If you have not set this up, you can do so through Blink at
Single Sign on Registration.

What if I want to buy a house?
There are a variety of options available to help prospective homeowners look for a house in this area. One option is to contact a local realtor who will provide a more hands on approach at a cost. Resources such as the San Diego Reader and the San Diego Union Tribune are another available option if you wish to conduct a search for a house on your own.
